Udupi: JD(S) leader Dhanraj arrested in cheque bounce case

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, May 25: Dhanraj, a JD(S) leader from Mangalore, was arrested by the police from Mangalore, relating to a cheque bounce case amounting to about Rs 14 lac.

He was produced in the local court on Friday May 24, and jailed.

Santhoshalatha Devi from Chanthar, Brahmavar in the district, had filed cases relating to bouncing of three cheques issued by Dhanraj in her favour. The cases were heard and Dhanraj was found guilty.

Although sentence was awarded and warrant was issued against him, Dhanraj had succeeded in evading the arrest, it is said.

On being produced in the JMFC court here, Dhanraj claimed that he had secured a stay against his sentence from the High Court. He also produced the said order.

However, the order clearly stated that his sentence stands stayed only if he clears 50 percent of the decreed amount. As Dhanraj had failed to comply with this condition, he was sent to jail in tune with the earlier judgment. Sources said that he was remanded in 10 days's custody.

It is surprising to note that the higher court stayed the order of the lower court if 50% of the dues are cleared. what about other 50%, who will clear that. Difficult to understand the role of the judiciary.

    Correct,

Home Minister need to creat a special Task Force STF to prevent "Kori Katta" and appoint this fellow Jagannath as its Chief.

Fit to be with Cocks because of his cocky behaviour....than being arbitrator of "Gold Disputes" and misbehaviour with female subordinates....

I wish him well in his new assignment......

    Jai Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
