Doha: Deepak Shetty elected president of Karnataka Sangha Qatar

Doha, May 30: Deepak Shetty was elected the new president of Karnataka Sangha Qatar during its annual general body meeting held at Mumbai Hall, ICC recently.

The election was conducted by the advisory panel consisting of founder president Satish Deshpande, and past presidents including Arvind Patil, Arun Kumar and V S Mannangi. Counting was held and Satish Deshpande declared Deepak Shetty as the 8th president of KSQ.

Nagesh Rao was choosen as vice president, Mahesh Gowda as general secretary, H K Madhu as cultural secretary and Manjunath N as treasurer for 2013-2015.

For the first time in the history of KSQ, election was held and more than 200 people took part in electing a president.

Past president, V S Mannangi thanked all members, committee members for their wholehearted support during his tenure and reiterated his support to the new committee headed by Deepak Shetty.
 
Deepak Shetty in his maiden speech stressed on the importance of being united irrespective of region/language/religion barrier and shared his thoughts on increasing the membership and how to make KSQ even more vibrant.

The Association welcomes all Kannada speaking people spread out in Qatar to join them in their good work and be a support to needy people back home by being a part of this family. Membership forms are available with the members.
