Bangalore: No move to take control of Udupi Krishna Math: CM

Tumkur, Jun 1 (PTI): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today refuted reports that the state government intended to bring Udupi Krishna Math Temple under its control.

"I have never said government will take control of the Udupi Krishna Math Temple. B S Yeddyurappa's government had handed over the Krishna temple to Udupi Math. Earlier it was under Muzrai Department," he told reporters on the sidelines of unveiling of Direct benefi ransfer to LPG Consumers Scheme here.

Siddaramaiah said he had in an interview to a publication had stated that the matter would be discussed and nothing more than that. "I never said the government plans to take Krishna Temple under our control."

Chief Minister’s first announcement of rice at Rs 1 per kg for the below poverty line families (BPL) will now be implemented from July 1, instead of June 1.

"The state needs 1.8- lakh MT of PDS rice more to fulfil the promise made by the Congress in its manifesto to give 30 kg rice to each family at Re 1 per kg. The Centre has agreed to provide additional quota, but could not procure it in May. The stock will start arriving this month and we will implement the scheme by July 1," he said.

Siddaramaiah said the government has not taken any decision on introducing cheap liqour and emphasised on holding a debate on the issue.

Reacting to a query on gutkha ban in the state, he said the ban has been imposed based on the Supreme Court order and it would not affect arecanut growers. He also contended that the arecanut prices have fallen due to the handiwork of traders.

"Government will fully safeguard the interests of arecanut growers. It is our responsbility. There is not need for them to panic," he added.

Asked about Tamil Nadu moving the Supreme Court seeking over Rs 2,000 crore in damages from the state for not releasing Cauvery water, Siddaramaiah said the state has not received summons. "We will react after we receive a communication from the court," he said.

Let them give everything free and make people more lazy in our country. If you are belongs to come Cast or Religion you get reservation in everything. No need of scoring marks, no need of running pillar to post for jobs, need not work hard to earn more because they get everything in less prices. And creating more official beggers in the country. Very good....

Reservations are needed as long as you see people who cheated of benefits that others have. You need to drive to a village or a slum and look at how people live and eat and compare it with your life. You cannot have a rose garden with just one plant with roses in it. All the plants need to be rose plants. If you are only one who has all the opportunities and wealth you will be the target people to thow stones at your tree.

What a joke? Are you sure Narendra Modi will be the next PM? Even if NDA comes to power, there is one section of BJP and NDA constituents who oppose Modi. Nithish Kumar is strong opponent of Modi. And yesterday Advani gave hint that Madhya Pradesh CM is better than Modi. BJP top leader is against Modi and how come you can say that Modi will be PM?? However there is no problem in day dreaming. Advani and Modi can never become PM of India. That is the fact. There are better leaders in BJP other than Modi and you cannot ignore them. Modi is fit only for Gujarath and he will be big zero in Central.

Finally what Nalin Kumar Kateel's view has won. Janardhan Poojari is learning tactics from Kateel to win the forthcoming election. But Siddu is unnecessarily wasting time in announcing controversial issues... Sri Krishna Temple, Gutkha ban, Cheap Liquor, Rs. 1/- rice, cow slaughter, etc......... Good move so far are (a) Task force to solve the drinking water problem (b) Disaster management plan to combat heavy rain

Good no such controversial decision on the card. But giving statement with out homework may trouble for govt.Debate on cheap liquor in fact, gives overall pros and cons!I think CONS are more. Siddu must reconcile all these sops totaling 4200 crore rupees from other sources as this burden is not budgetary allocation.

FIRST PHOTO OF BJP MP,Mr BASAVARAJ, odd with BJP and leaning towards BSY will join Congress???????Body language gives the signal!!!?After Periapattana by-election BJP exposed it's worst faring which may lead some politicians of BJP to think their future in other parties?
