Mangalore, Jun 2: The total funds released for the development of the Lok Sabha constituency from the MP fund and through my recommendations, in the last four years of my term stand at Rs 81,20,35,560, said Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP of Dakshina Kannada district.

"I am going to complete my 4th successful year as the MP on June 2. The total amount of Rs 81, 35,560 has been used for urban development, rural development, education, health, agriculture and various other sectors and projects," he said.

"One of the main things that we need to focus on is the railways. The tender process is in progress for the construction of underpass tacross the Padil railway crossing and permission has been granted for Kudpady railway crossing," he added.

"The development and repair of the national highway was the second important issue that had to be looked in to. Rs 6.68 crore was spent for the repair of NH 48 Shiradi Ghat road.

"Rs 1,57,50,000 has been spent on the repair of roads that have been damaged by rains in previous years. Through my reccommendations, funds have been released for the eight Assembly constituencies of the district from chief minister's special fund (Rs 5.6 crore), MP’s local development fund (Rs 12.53 crore), MRPL and KIOCL fund, Prime Minister recovery fund (92.78 crore), chief minister recovery fund (Rs 22.25 crore) and others," he said.

Funds have also been utilized for places of worship (Rs 9 crore for over 100 temples and Rs 36 lac for 49 mosques), and also for setting up BSNL towers, he added.

On the ban on gutka in the state, he said, "BJP is not opposing the ban on gutka by the state Congress government - rather, the BJP welcomes it - but the question here is, why is the state governmnet hurrying on this matter?

"DK district has the highest number of arecanut growers, hence the government needs to think of them as well before implementing the ban. First enforce alternative plans for the arecanut farmers and then impose the ban," he urged.

"Special packages have to be given for arecanut growers, loans taken from nationalized banks for arecanut farmings should be waived," he added.

BJP leaders Monappa Bhandary and Padmanabh Kottary were present.

The website http://mplads.gov.in/index.htm lists out the rules for the MP Fund - "The Member of Parliament Local Area Development Division is entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS). Under the scheme, each MP has the choice to suggest to the District Collector for, works to the tune of Rs.5 Crores per annum to be taken up in his/her constituency."
I fail to understand how all the rest of the funds, which have their own implementation agencies are claimed to be part of the MP Fund!

    Great achievement!!!!.

You can have one yaatra or place some banners at the main road junctions to get some more publicity ( ..if allowed legally and the Municipal Corporation) Dakshina Kannada District to inform the great news to the people of the district (Those who do not log into this web-portal or say those who do not have time to read news papers if all this news is published!!!) about your achievement of
Rs 81,20,35,560, for Dakshina Kannada district total funds released for the development of the Lok Sabha constituency from the MP fund and through Nalin Kumar Kateel's "Recommendation"!!!.

I would also request your party (BJP) to mention where all this money has been spent and for what developments have been done for the District!!! so that you can do "Justice to the District" by giving details about the accountability of it Mr.M.P Saab.

Nalin Kumar Kateel is boasting of so many things including International Airport,Railway Station and so on.But why he could not go for a new Service Bus Stand,
Fish and Vegetable Market? What about Fly over at Pumpwell and Signal Lights at Hampankatta?People are fed up of hearing those Patte
Dantina Rail from BJP leaders like
Nalin Kumar Kateel, Let Nalin Kumar
walk in the footpaths of Mangalore
City and see the pathetic case of
the roads. No footpats, no dividers
and he is boasting of International
    Caro complex etc.BJP has miserably
failed to give a new facelift to the City of Mangalore. In so many places no proper drainage till today. 81 Crores spent? For what?
Where it has gone? can Nalin Kumar
give the account to the public? Now he better stops talking and starts doing some good work.Krishna Palemar had identified a place for
    Service Bus Stand at Pumpwell.But

What ever the Britishers did where not for India, they did it for their convenience. Freedom which we enjoy now, has been accuaried after paying a heavy amount of blood and sacrifice. Kateel Nalin is boasting about his spending courage and the garbage. I have met him and requested 4 times to repair a VERY DANGEROUS Bridge on Neermarga to Volachil road. He promised to visit the spot every time I spoke to Him but He could not spare 2 hours of His time for good cause. But He had enough time for visiting temples and other publicity programs. Then I made at least 25 calls to His Secretary regarding this problem. Every time He had some excuse regarding PWD and their tender blunder. I spent my gasoline and precious time to stand on line to speak to Nalin for Public Benefit. Out of 81 Crore how much is swindled in the name of road repair and other B.S. MP stand for Mal-Practice.

There is a saying "Rail budpinakul"
That train may be in the railway budget but to bring it on track it is not possible for that "RAIL BUDPINA JANAKULEG" We keep hearing these lies over and over again.
Anyone can claim so many developments - releasing central money, "God alone knows to whom", is so easy - important is what development has actually taken place. It is easy to generalise expenses, like he has done but forgot the expenses incurred at the home front (filling his own pockets)
I did not read of any project he conducted and completed as MP.
As for Mr. Oscar, sometime back there was a write up about the help he has given out from MP Funds.
(I am not vouching for that)
It could be same like Nalin proclaiming.

Nalin Kumar Kateel is blowing trackless train..... Nalin being a BJP man, received Rs.81 crore from UPA gevernment ? Thats not BAD. But give us details of expenditure of same amount for Mangalore constituency and prove that you are different from congress MPs. Uff... thts too much to ask !! U may not be able to list out ur work done for ur constituency in a,b,c, .. order. It may turn out to be a mockery of bills - for example u may say small portion of road repair Rs.10 crore, small diggin work - Rs.20Crore, blah blah ... No one knows where exactly you spent public money. Most of the crores would have gone into your/relatives pockets. New train facility and track work expenses will be borne out from Railways Ministry, not from your MP fund !!

Dont Fool PUBLIC Mr.Nalin !! Get services of proxy Hanumantha Kamath to print few lakhs pamphlets to publish your great work !! Ask him not to mention your swaha amount or not to mention ur karmakanda.

It is a shame that we have excellent roads from the Kodagu district to Mysore, as soon as you enter DK district roads are in the worst shape and incomplete. And the monsoons are already upon us and feel sorry for driving on those roads. Also look at the roads from Nantoor to Talapady. Shame on you NKK, it's a shame indeed. Verbal statements holds no good, these statements should be backed by facts, figures and development work. I cannot see any development in and around Managlore in the areas stated by Mr. Nalin. I could see only some development on his face/outlook !, it is glowing because of some crores !

I really don't understand why these politicians say they have utilized money, etc etc. Remember its not your money. It's our( public) money, which is used for development projects, so what's the big deal about it? They act as if they have spent money from their own pocket for public. Talking about their recommendations for grating money, yes we appreciate it but remember that it's your duty and that's why people have voted and ed you. It's a clear indication that these politicians come out and speak when the elections are coming close.

Nalin Kumar's term going to finish? Why this unspecified progress report?I think, the developments and turn of events centered with BJPoooojari might be reason? If that amount spent on developmental project means UPA made available funds to even BJP MP constituencies with out partiality.....

Look at the state of the roads in your own place Kateel how bad they are. People in and around Kateel will know this. There is no proper bus stop even kateel being a pilgrim place, people and vehicles are stopped on the road. We haven't heard so far that he released any funds. Now CBI should probe this where the funds are gone? like state BJP..gone with the wind??

Really wonder where 81 crore went. If 81 crore can do only this much development (we see around us in Nalin's constituency), then imagine our plight, who get to see a few thousands.

Nalin Kumar, please give the details of works done within your constituency, we shall do an audit and give you a report. You are in Delhi, so you do not know where, how, what, why of the released funds!

    Kisko banaa rahaa hai?

Each constituency will be allocated certain amount of fund. If it is not utilized by MP, it will go back to Govt. When Oscar was MP, most of the fund went back.

It is nice to see development works done by our anna NALIN. He is young, energetic, people friendly, dynamic, diligent MP. At present he is one of best MP in our state. Our Nalin surely will be MINISTER OF STATE in central Govt next year. The joker of Mangalore can look out some other constituency Doddaballapur, Chickaballapur, Kolar etc like another joker Moily did.

Thanks to Nalin for getting a new BNG-MNG train in the railway budget. I request Nalin to get this train on track at the earliest and make it daily train. I am sorry for the people of Udupi and Chickmangalur. Udupi MP can atleast extend this train to Udupi. Also on behalf of all Udupi and NK people, I request NALIN to extend the train to Karwar.

Jai KARNATAKA SUPUTRA Nalin Kumar Kateel...

If the amount spent is explained properly ( Which project & how much), then people should have known actually how much amount spent & people benefited from that. Whether it is state of central, all 80% of funds doesn't reach the actual cause.
