Bangalore: Qamar-ul Islam accused of illegally acquiring Wakf property

Bangalore, Jun 8, 2013 (PTI):
A private complaint has been filed before the Special Lokayukta Court against Karnataka Wakf Minister Qamar-ul Islam accusing him of illegally acquiring Wakf properties in Gulbarga.

Complainant Tabrez Pasha submitted documents to the court alleging that Qamar-ul Islam illegally acquired a little over eight acres of Wakf land in Bandepura.

The land was granted to Khwaja Bande Nawaz Sharief Dargarh by the Wakf Board in 1974 and four years later, Qamar-ul Islam requested that the land to be granted to him, it said.

The land was illegally granted in Qamar-ul Islam's favour and the minister converted it into a residential layout, selling each plot for a sum ranging from Rs six lakh to Rs twenty lakh, Pasha alleged in his complaint.

Pasha alleged Qamar-ul Islam misused his official position as member of Karnataka Wakf Board in 1998 to denotify the shrine land.

The land had been illegally occupied by some people against whom the Wakf Board was fighting a legal battle in Karnataka High Court.

Pasha said he filed a complaint with the Karnataka State Minorities Commission a few months ago and the Commission had, in turn, submitted a report to the government.

However, the government had failed to take any action.

Special Lokayukta Court Judge N K Sudhindra Rao has posted the case to July 18 for hearing.

Stop this minority,ST,SC,Backward class etc etc. If these communities can't progress in 65 yrs, they will never. All mothers carry their child for 9 months irrespectively. Stop this vote banking gimmick for ever. I may sound rude, but lets face the facts.

Now its BJPs turn to give back whatever they received from Congis during last 5 years. Its going to be a tough time for siddu. He accused BJP for corruption. Now we should see how he will react to his own ministers' wrong doings.

One standard dialogue what we can expect from him is "law will take its own steps and we will not interfere in it we are sure that he will come out with a clean chit"

Once Wakf ( government) property is looted by politically powerful people, it will be hell of a task to take it back. A common man cannot fight against these big looters. If a complaint is filed, there will be threats, gifts, money, intimidation ... all offered to the complainant. Therefore our justice system needs a complete overhaul which allows scrutiny, investigation and punishment to erring hi-fi looters without much hurdles.

Is it?...Oh God...the prestige issue between Anwar Manippady and Qamar-Ul-Islam has finally taken a new twist with a third person filing a case against the latter. Manippady had submitted a report indicting Qamar while DVS was the CM...Why did not the BJP take action then? The issue pertains to 1998 when Qamar was JD (S) MP from Gulbarga. Why there was a lull for 15 years and has suddenly cropped up once Qamar became a minister? Who's this Tabrez Pasha and where was he all this while when there were enough proof to indict Qamar? Manippady is the wily fox who can stoop to any level for publicity and power. Qamar should immediately come out of the cabinet till he comes out clean...

This accusations not new and it was slapped before election. But if FIR are to be filed by LOKA then certainly he should resign. That being said you have no moral right say about the issue because, your party men those who occupied Govt post not resigned even after filing serious corruption cases by LOKA(1 Currency and Gold mine!,2)AAAAR ASHOKER ......the list is endless ..But you guys convinced BSY to resign and rest kept intact!!!!That is why SIDDU kept some stalwarts outside for the fear of such embarrassment....
