Udupi: Child drowns in open well

Udupi, Jun 11: On Monday June 10 morning, a child which was playing in the courtyard of a house, accidentally fell into an open well and drowned. The incident occurred at Bankers Colony in Varambally village near Brahmavar in the taluk. 

Pratham, 16-month-old son of Bhaskar Poojary residing in Bankers Colony, lost his life in the tragedy. Pratham was playing as usual in the courtyard of his house. The family members failed to notice that he had ventured dangerously close to the open well.

After the child slipped and fell into the well, the locals lifted the child from the well and rushed it to a private hospital here. However, Pratham breathed his last before reaching the hospital, the policemen said.

A report about the incident was filed in Brahmavar police station.
