Rajesh, son of Patte Belliappa Gowda from Perabe, had been working for Alankar branch of Mescom since the last two years. On Tuesday afternoon, he had repaired the electric line at Chamettadka in Perabe village. He approached the nearby transformer and was about to switch the power plug on, when he suffered shock waves and breathed his last on the spot. On the face of it, it appears that he failed to notice that the insulator in the electric pole supporting the transformer had been broken.

Rajesh had finished his job training course before starting to work for Mescom, Alankar. He was supporting his family, and is survived by parents and a brother. Although Rajesh was immediately taken to a private hospital in Alankar after the incident, he was found to have died before medical assistance could be extended.
