Fr Stany Tauro, convener of the college, presided. He said that Fr Henry Castelino, a gentle and simple soul, has permanently etched out a name for himself in the history of St Mary College by dedicating his rich experience in the field of education for the growth of this college. When I read the news of Fr. Henry Castelino’s death my eyes filled with tears. I was fortunate to be his student and received generous help. I owe a lot him.
Fr. Castelino was a man of great sacrifice. It is because of Fr. Castelino’s sacrifice the newly established St. Marys College could have such an outstanding teacher as its Principal in its formative years. He was not only a mentor to the students but also guided us to face the difficult world. I still remember the advice that he gave “ there is no short cut to hard work”. We salute you Fr. Castelino for shaping our lives and remember always your sacrifice as a source of inspiration.

Thank you Alma mater for paying such a rich tribute to our founder Principal

Its heartening to note the great work done by Fr Castelino. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Many such self less individuals have contributed greatly to society. The messages here reflect the work and grattitude. DW should take leadership and establish a fund in memory of Fr Castelino which can benefit the needy students across Mangalore and Udupi, which is the greatest tribute that we can pay him. I am confident of 50 lacs from his students and wellwishers.
