Mangalore, Jun 13: St Aloysius Institute of Education (B Ed College), Mangalore observed the World Environment Day on Tuesday June 11.

Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, rector, St Aloysius College Institutions, was the chief guest of the programme. He focused on the world environment theme ‘think, eat and save’ and presented a statistics of wastage of food and other natural resources in the world. He also stressed the need for protecting the mother earth from degradation. 

Fr Denzil Lobo along with the director, principal and staff planted a plant which symbolized the protection and growing of more plants.

Fr Edward Rodrigues SJ, director of the college presided over the function. In his address, he stressed on practical day to day activities where one could reduce the use of natural resources and promote reusing and recycling.

B Ed trainees showcased a street play on degradation of environment by pollution and deforestation.

Farita Viegas, principal of the college welcomed the gathering. Pearl D’ Souza highlighted the significance of the world environment day celebration. Liffin Saldanha compered the programme. Pavitrakshi delivered the vote of thanks.
