Bantwal: 'Murdered' man comes alive - suspended SI set for reinstatement

Daijiworld Media Networkk – Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Jun 13: Vittal police station sub-inspector, Madhava Koodlu, is set to be reinstated, as the complaint on the basis of which he was suspended has been found to be baseless.

Imtiaz (22), son of Abdul Rahiman from Kambalabettu Shanthinagar in Vittlamudnoor village near Vittal, had left home for Hyderabad in search of a job on May 7.  As he had not informed his family of his intention, his mother had filed a missing complaint on May 9. Reportedly, Imtiaz was in love with one of his classmates, but both the families had disapproved this relationship. Imtiaz never contacted his family after his disappearance.

Newspapers had reported on June 7, about the recovery of a lifeless body on the banks of River Netravati. When the family of Imtiaz made enquiries at Vittal police station, they were informed that the said body has been disposed off after inquest. The family members, who saw the photograph of the deceased, came to the conclusion that it belonged to Imtiaz. They issued a press statement saying that the family of the girl, with whom Imtiaz was in love, had killed him. The girl has already been married off to someone else, it is said.

After a group met minister, Ramanath Rai, and complained that the body of Imtiaz, which was found on the river bank,  was buried without allowing the people concerned to have a look at it, the minister spoke to the inspector general of police (IGP). The IGP in turn, asked the superintendent of police to suspend the sub-inspector of polie, Madhava Koodlu, for insufficient investigation.

Imtiaz has now come back. He says he failed to bag a job in Hyderbad in spite of repeated efforts, and had decided to come back, as he craved to meet his parents. The family of Imtiaz has now requested the concerned to withdraw the sub-inspector’s suspension.

ABOUT RAMNATH RAI I KNOW HIM PERSONALLY AND HE IS HIGHLY EDUCATED AND STUDIED IN BANGALORE. HE IS VERY MUCH FIT FOR THE MINISTERIAL POST. HE DID ON THE REQUEST OF THIS RUSHING FAMILY.

VITTAL POLICE WERE VERY HONEST AND ON THE SAME DAY THEY HAVE DISPATCHED POLICE TO CHECK BOYS HOUSE, GIRLS HOUSE HANDLING WITH POLITE WAY. THEY CAME TO BOYS HOUSE AND HOW POLITE THEY WERE. THIS IS THE WAY SHOULD HANDLE THE CASE. THEY DID THEIR BEST FOR THIS RUSHING FAMILY SAYING. BUT THIS FAMILY IS NOT AWARE OF WHAT POLICE WERE DOING. DO THEY TRAVEL WITH POLICE WHILE INVESTIGATING? WITHOUT KNOWING THEY COMPLAINED THAT POLICE ARE NOT BOTHERED. I MYSELF KNOW VITTAL POLICE VERY WELL. AND SAYING GIRLS FAMILY KILLED THEIR SON AND BLAMING OTHERS, DO GIRLS FAMILY HAVE GUTS TO KILL ANYONE. BEFORE BLAMING YOU SHOULD INVESTIGATE. DON'T SAY ANYTHING AND PUT ALL PEOPLE IN TROUBLE.

When I was going to bed last night, very strange doubt troubled me for a long time..If Imtiaz came to his home at midnight, and knocked at the door, what would have been the status of family member who opened the door ???..The next headlines would be "Alive man becomes Dead when he opened the door & saw the Dead man Alive"

It is very easy to blame as this is human nature.Whatever has happened is very wrong. The wrong identification of the body without proper investigation has brought about this situation which may have caused lot of turmoil to the girls family .The boys family came to the conclusion on their own is simply ridiculous and then conveniently blaming the girls family is absouletly punishable.

Reading some of the comments I would just like to say please get your facts right. The said minister Mr Ramnath Rai is not an under graduate as mentioned.

I dont get it...why blame Ramanath Rai?? He did what he was supposed to. A family in need approached him and he did the needful. I do understand that the SI has got what he never deserved and must be rightfully reinstated and comphensated. But even the family of the boy did believe that the person found dead was their son. So why blame the minister now? If it was indeed the boy who was dead people would again blame officials for being careless. Something has gone wrong, but that doesnt entitle us to blame anyone and everyone we can.

The most funniest part of the story is family members came to conclusion on the basis of photograph that body belongs to Imtiaz..! When family can't recognize their own family member, how can POOR SI recognize ?
When SI can be suspended for no fault of his, definitely family can be punished for their big mistake !
Now everyone will cry along with family members including Minister Rai, IGP,SP.." I AM INNOCENT" (like Sreeshant)

    Dinesh Poojary, Kundapura/Bengaluru,

You are questioning the education of present ministers?

We have seen the contribution (Karnamas) of your "Panchvi class fail" ministers in last five years

    To name a few -
    Watching blue film in assembly
    Raping friends wife
    Operation Kamalakka
    Pakistan flag hosting in Hubli
    Church attacks,pub attacks,beating women
    Enjoying in resorts and clubs
    Hosting rave parties etc etc

The leaders involved in above are worst than Illiterates

What do you say my friend???

This is ridiculous and highly irresponsible on the part of Imtiaz and the family. The sub-inspector's rights including his lost reputation needs to be restored and he needs to get a lawyer to sue this family of Imtiaz and also a case should be filed against Imtiaz. I am sure appropriate sections can be found in the Act. I hope this sub-inspector can talk to a good lawyer and take this matter to court.

Uneducate is different from illiterate. The current govt has many illiterate MLAs and Ministers. At least for the posts like HOME, TRANSPORT, REVENUE, EDUCATION, IT/BT etc etc departments, a good scholar should be appointed.

Constitution does not prescribe academic qualification to become Minister! So it is non issue!
However, 50-60 years back 12th standard with several years of Ministerial working experience
is far more than now a days professional qualification.
