Mangalore: DC meets Dengue patients at hospital

Mangalore, Jun 14: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC), N Prakash, visited K M C Hospital at Attavar here on Wednesday June 12. He met the patients being treated for Dengue there, and interacted with them, besides saying encouraging words.

He also asked the doctors attending the patients, to pay special attention to the ones suffering from Dengue. The DC had planned the visit to the hospital, after coming to know that seven Dengue-affected patients are being treated at this hospital. He also went through the treatment details of these patients.

It is learnt that two of the Dengue patients have already been discharged after treatment. Three others hail from Kanhangad and Nileshwar in Kerala. Two more, Abubakker from Bettampady Puttur, and Thammappa in Sullia, are showing signs of improvement. Although the other person, Karunakar, was suspected to have contracted Dengue, the doctors said the test reports have proved negative.
