Mangalore sisters honoured at int'l Dance Olympiad

Mangalore, Jun 15: Ananya S Rao and Apoorva S Rao, popularly known as 'Mangalore sisters' performed 'Bharatanatyam Duets' at the 'Naveen Kalakar International Dance Olympiad' held at Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, which was sponsored by Department of Culture, government of Odissa, NALCO,SBI.

They were also honoured with the 'Nritya Jyothi' award on the occasion.

For the past 10 years they have been learning the art of bharatanatyam under Guru Vidushi Vidyashreee Radhakrishna of Gaana Nritya Academy(R), Mangalore and were also students at the Victoria Girl's Highschool, Ladyhill, Mangalore.

They have performed Bharatanatyam in 300 and more stage shows which include Dasara, Alva's Virasat, Paryaya Utsava, Udupi, Youth festival, in Mangalore, and recently at the Adoorbhasi film awards 2013 at VJT, Hall, Trivandrum.

They will be performing the dance in the DD Chandana's popular program 'Madhura Madhuravee Manjula Gaana' on June 16 at Koteshwara.

On July 14 they will be performing bharatanatyam at TTD SVBC channel, Thirupathi.
