Kaup: Serial theft – 10 sovereigns of gold, cash stolen

Kaup, Jun 15: In Kaup and Shirva police station limits, at Mallar and Pakirapatna, a serial theft has been reported on Friday June 14 night.

In Kaup station limits, thieves entered house belonging to Nazir Ahmed from Pakirapatna and looted 10 sovereigns of gold and Rs 2,000 cash. As soon as the thieves broke and opened the cupboard door, Nazir woke up and came down to see what was wrong, meanwhile the thieves attacked him and fled from the spot.

 

Thieves also barged into the house located besides the Nazir’s house by breaking the back door lock, but as they did not find any valuables, they had returned back empty handed.

Kaup circle inspector Shivanand Walekar, Shirva inspector KR Nayak, Kaup inspector Archana K, Rajendra Nayak, Kaup crime SI, Harishchandra from finger print squad along with other police officials visited the spot.

A case has been registered at Kaup and Shirva police station.
