Dr B R Shetty, Dr Mohan Alva, Dr Puthuraya to grace Tulu Parba

Dubai, Jun 19: Dr Mohan Alva of Alva's Foundation, Moodbidri, a promoter of Tulu and Kannada culture will be the guest at UAE Tulu Koota Dubai 23rd year celebration of Tulu Parba 2013.
Padmashree Dr B R Shetty, a prominent Tulu and Kannada community leader and successful businessman will preside over the function.
Umanath Kotian who served as president of Tulu Sahitya Academy, also a Tulu culture lover who took the initiative to construct the Tulu Academy building with the help of Karnataka government, and Dr Puthuraya, a good orator in Kannada and Tulu known for his witty and humorous talk throughout Karnataka, will also be present as guests.
For the past 23 years, UAE Tulu Koota has invited different personalities who have served Tulu culture. Without any caste religion or creed UAE Tulu Koota has put all the Tulu, Konkani, Beary and Kannada speaking communities together on one platform and portrayed the unity of Dakshina Kannada.
This will be one of the most awaited programmes as Devdas Kapikad, Naveen Padil and Bhojraj Vamanjoor are all set to perform their comedy skits for drama lovers. It is almost after a decade that Kapikad and Padil are performing together in such an event.
Harish Sherigar’s live band is one of the attractions. A singer himself, he has assured to deliver a memorable evening for the music lovers. A mixture of old and new multi-lingual songs will keep all music lovers on their toes, with concluding baila song at the end for the dance lovers. There are more surprise performances lined up by the members of UAE Tulu Koota and other community members.
