Mangalore, Jun 19: Sharan, a cameraman working for a local cable television network, has succeeded in securing bail. He had been arrested relating to his visit to ‘Morning Mist’ homestay in the city on July 28 last year, for recording the unfortunate events which unfolded there on that day.

Activists of Hindu Jagran Vedike had reportedly planned the attack, when a birthday party was on at the homestay. Sharan, who filmed the goings on, was accused by the rural station police of not providing information about the attack to the policemen as soon as he came to know about it. A charge sheet had also been filed in the court against him.

It may be recalled that Naveen Soorinje, a reporter of Kasturi TV, had succeeded in getting bail from the high court recently in the said case, and later the government also dropped charges against him.
