Udupi: K J George honoured at Bishop’s House

Udupi, Jun 19: K J George, the home minister in the newly elected Karnataka government visited the Bishop’s House, here, along with the urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake and legislator Pramod Madhwarj.

As bishop Gerald Lobo was away from the diocese, vicar general Baptist Menezes accorded the minister a hearty welcome on behalf of the bishop and the diocese of Udupi.

He honoured the home minister with a shawl while the parish priest of Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi Fr Fred Mascarenhas garlanded him.

A brief prayer service was held in the Church at which Fr Fred Mascarenhas proclaimed the word of God, Fr Chetan, Capuchin prayed for the dignitaries and Baptist Menezes blessed them.

Later, the dignitaries were given refreshments at the parish priest’s residence.
