Kasargod, Jun 19: In an incident which occurred on Tuesday June 18 morning at Puttige in the district, an LKG student lost his life after coming under the wheels of his school bus.
The victim of the unfortunate incident has been identified as Muhammed Jassi (4), son of Ibrahim and Hajira couple from kwaja Road in Herur Chinnamogeru village. The incident occurred at around 8 am.
Jassi had alighted from the school bus after it reached the school premises, and was walking towards the school, when the bus that was being reversed by the driver, hit him. The boy sustained serious injuries in the accident, and was rushed to a private hospital in Kasargod. The doctors attended to him immediately, but he did not respond to treatments.
The body was taken to the general hospital for post mortem. A case was registered in the town police station here.
