Udupi: Thieves target temple, adjacent shop at Uchila

Udupi, Jun 19: Thieves broke into Uchila Shri Mahalakshmi Temple and a shop near National Highway 66 on the night of Monday June 17.

The thieves entered the temple by breaking the lock of the main door and took away cash from the donation box by breaking its lock.

The shop of Ratnkar Shetty which is adjacent to the temple by breaking the lock of its shutter door and robbed mobile cash recharges worth Rs 1,000. Cigarette packets, a sickle, and iron rods  used for breaking the door, were left outside the temple.

Padubidri police rushed to the spot and are probing the case.
