Udupi: Hitech Hospital founder T V Rao dies at 84

Udupi, Jun 19: T V Rao, founder of Hitech Medicare Hospital, Udupi, and resident of Mattu, Katapady, passed away on Wednesday June 19 in the Hitech hospital. He was 84.

He is survived by well-known Dr T S Rao, Hitech Medicare admininstrator Pradeep Kumar, daughter Dr Jhanavi Rao, apart from two other sons and four daughters.

T V Rao had served as teacher in Modern Higher Primary School, Udupi and also as president of Mattu block panchayat. He rendered his service in Syndicate Bank for several decades.

He was the founder president of Mattu Sandeepani High School and Mattu Vidyavardhaka Sangha. He served as the president of Kaup block Congress committee and member of undivided Dakshina Kannada Congress committee.

Rao, who was also the president of Mattu Manjula Yakshagana Kala Mandali, was a Yakshagana artiste too, and even taught the folk art and donned the role of Bhagavata.

Union road transport minister Oscar Fernandes, state urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLAs Gopal Poojary and Pramod Madhwaraj, former minister Vasanth V Salian, former MLA Lalaji R Mendon, K Raghupati Bhat, U R Sabhapati, BJP district president Udayakumar Shetty, JD(S) district president Deviprasad Shetty and others condoled Rao's demise.

    Late T.V.Rao was one of the best managers served in so many branches mostly around Udupi.After retirement he had taken over the administration of Hitech Hospital as he was the founder.Big loss to the family and people around.We wish eternal peace to the departed soul of Rao and also give strength to withstand the loss to the family,relative and friends.Thanq.

    Great man...Active person...almost I used to see him daily during my childhood and used to hear his voice while practicing yakshagana in shastri's clinic....my condolence to family of T.V.RAO....We miss you sir.......
