M'lore: Muslim central committee to honor elected members on Jun 23

Mangalore, Jun 20:
"The Muslim central committee will felicitate 7 newly elected MLA’s from Dakshina Kannada and 4 from the Udupi district at a programme organized at the city town hall on Sunday June 23," said Mohammed Masood, president of Muslim central committee.

Addressing the media at Hotel Woodlands on Thursday June 20 he said, "it is a proud moment for us as these MLA’s out of which 4 are chosen as ministers have been elected by people from Congress party which is not communal.

The felicitation will be made to ministers and MLA’s namely health minister U T Khadar, forest minister Ramanath Rai, fisheries minister Abhaychandra Jain, urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, J R lobo, Shakuntala Shetty, Pramod Madhwaraj, Mohiuddin Bava and Vasanth Bangera.

"For the sake of communal harmony in the district, we have suffered a lot for the past couple of years and this honor is to make them aware of their promises made to the people in the manifesto," he said.

"The Congress party won the elections with support from people of all the communities as they have suffered a lot under BJP through their immoral activities," he said.

"The Muslim central committee keeping in mind the immoral activities of BJP had appealed to all the mosques of both the districts to support the Congress party," he added.

Ibrahim Kodijal, vice president, Nooruddin Salamar, Ahmed Bava, Mohidinabba, Riyad Ucchil, Asif Iqbal, C M Muttappa, C M Hanif among others were present.
