Mina (Saudi Arabia), Jan 13: Twenty-seven Indians were among 354 pilgrims killed in the stampede during the symbolic stoning ritual during Haj in Mina near Mecca on Thursday.
Out of the 13 Indian pilgrims injured, only two remain in hospital while the others were discharged after first aid, Indian Consul General Ausaf Sayeed said over phone from Mina.
According to Sayeed, 140 bodies have been taken to hospitals and "more are coming".
The minister said under his instructions, three helplines have been opened in Mina for Indians as well as outsiders to seek information.

Ahamed said all steps are being taken and the families concerned will be informed about the welfare of their relatives. "There is no need to panic or to be alarmed," he said, adding more than 100 doctors and 140 paramedics have been deployed.
The Indian envoy said the situation was being monitored closely and Indian doctors had been deployed at major hospitals to identify if any dead or injured Indians were brought there.
