Bangalore, Jun 22: Eminent Scientist Prof C N R Rao has agreed to continue as the Head of Vision Group, an advisory body formed by the State Government.

Karnataka’s IT, BT, Science and Technology Minister called on Prof Rao at the latter’s residence in Bangalore and informed of the Government's decision to seek  his continuance.

The minister assured Prof Rao that the State Government was committed to implement the recommendations of the Vision Group.

Later speaking to reporters Patil thanked Prof Rao for giving his consent to continue his service despite his hectic engagements with several national and international  science institutes. Prof Rao is also the Chairman of Science Advisory Council to the Prime Minister.

Patil said Karnataka was already the hub of IT and BT activties and initiate everything to retain the prominence of the sector.

The State would be an ultimate destination for those who want to invest in science and technology research development field, he added.
