Kannada writer-director Kunigal Nagabhushan no more

Bangalore, Jun 23 (PTI): Veteran Kannada director and script writer Kunigal Nagabhushan died following a cardiac arrest in a city hospital today.

70-year old Nagabhushan was rushed to the Fortis Hospital late last night after he complained of breathing problem.

He suffered two heart attacks while being treated in the hospital and died in the wee hours, his son Bharatbhushan told reporters.

Nagabhushan had obtained a degree in cinematography and entered films in 1961. He started his career as an assistant director and worked in many films with Dr Raj Kumar and others.

He also worked as director in some Kannada films, including one starring superstar Rajnikanth.

Later, Nagabhushan tried his hand in writing dialogues and script for Kannada films featuring `Vishnuvardhan`, `Shankar Nag` and others.

Nagabhushan`s successful films include `Sahodarara Savaal`, `Simhada Jodi`, `Oorige Upakari`. "Sangliana` and others.

He won the state award for writing dialogues in the film `Gowri Ganesha` directed by Phani Ramachandra in which Anant Nag played the lead role.

    What a coincidence...Was watching a few older Kannada movies starring Jaggesh and was asking some folks what happened to this actor...Cant forget his superb comedy scenes with Jaggesh in "Super Nan Maga"... A big loss to the film industry..May his soul enter into the kingdom of God.

    Kunigal Nagabushana was a great director, script writer and a actor especially in Comedy roles, i had seen two of his movies "Sahodarara Savaal" and "Simha Jodi", His contribution to Kannada film industry is great, his demise is a great loss. May his soul rest in peace, may the Kannada film chamber give him state funeral just like late Dr. Rajkumar &
    Late Dr. Vishnuvardhan.

    RIP...one cannot forget his roles in comedy movies especially the "Ganesha" series starring Ananthnag and some Kashinath Starrer's. Kunigal Nagabhushan's contribution to Kannada film Industry is immense worth of memories.

    I have never seen any good director in Kannada other than Puttanna Kanaagal....

    Ismail how about directing a new kannada movie called "Naama",,, we have lot of talented artists(kalakaars) in politics like Yeddy,HDD and Sons & daughter in laws(Anitha & Radhika Pandith???), DKS, Shakuni, Kubera, Siddu , Moily,Oscar,Poojary etc(Of all Parties) etc.....
