Bahrain, Jan 14: Forty children participated in the Konkani singing and speech contest organized by  "Konkani Kutam" on January 13 in the Karnataka Social Club premises.

The singing and speech contest began in time with children displaying their enthusiasm and commitment. In the singing competition up to 6 years,  Clita Tellis, Ashley D'Silva and AshwinSequeira secured the first, second and third places respectively.

In the 6 to 9 years category Ryan Fernandes, Charlene Andrade and Alister Sequeira secured  the first, second and third places. In the 9 to 12 years group,  Alma Pereira , Shaun Alva  and Kenneth Andrade won the first, second and third places. In the 12 to 18years group Michelle Correa, Stephanie Alva and Lavita D'Souza secured the first, second and third place respectively.

In the speech contest up to 9 years,  Ryan Fernandes, Dafny Sequeira and Hazel D'Sa won the first, second and third place, and in the 9 to 12 years category,  Jennifer D'Souza , Vivian D'Souza and Shaun Alva securedthe first, second and third place. In the 12 to 18 years group Vinola D'Souza, Venetia D'Souza and Stephanie Alva wonthe first, second and third places.

Henry Almeida and Bertram Rego compered the programme. The programme concluded with a sumptuous lunch from Shringar Resturant.
