Pejavar Swamiji terms student's gang rape an insult to Udupi

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jun 25: “A heinous crime like rape should never have occurred in this region. The rapists should be made to face harsh punishment which should insult them in public,” felt Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejavar Math, in a statement issued here.

“States which fail to protect their women can never prosper. The accused appear roaming around freely after committing this crime, but the police force has been unable to nab them. There are indications that the police force has become weaker. The accused should be arrested without bowing under any pressure, and they should be made to undergo rigorous punishment. Proper security should be provided to student hostels,” he opined.

Swamiji is unnecessarily interfering and even he wants to try to deviate the minds of public when enquiry is going on. May be he wants to support moral policing and simply wants to act as patriarch. This swamiji was quiet when all unpredictable ugly and indecent incidents happened during BJP tenure. It is better he join directly politics instead of creating tension in the beautiful society of D.K. Please don't listen to him.

Joe Colaco, Bangalore.......Please don't use such cheap comment against Swamiji. He protested against all governments when something happened like this. What Happened is very heinous and everybody has the right to protest against it. Do't make it BJP or Congress issue. Police department accountable for it. They should answer what they are doing from past five days.
