It would be nice if Qatar Airways starts to and from from Doha to Mangalore and back. They are one of the best airlines with good courteous and friendly service. If they start I will take that flight from New York to Doha to Mangalore. In that case I don't have to go to Mumbai to take a flight to Manglaore.

If you are confident of that, a representation can be made to Qatar airways thru Various Organizations working in Doha and try our luck. Now AIE is operating two flights a week between Mangalore and Dammam. The number of Mangalore passengers per flight is around 50 only. The flight is able to operate because it terminates at Calicut with another 100 passengers. Because of stop over AIE is able to operate 2 flights a week, where as Qatqr airways can not get stop over in India.

The flight does not terminate in Calicut. The flight survives due to it's low cost structure...

This is good news. It would be good if they introduce one more flight per week, even if it is connecting (if direct not possible due to less number of travelers)

Well said krishna,, The volume of Passengers on this sector is not enough for Qatar Airways to commence a flight to Mangalore.

As per the present situation of Mangalore Aiport, Looking on the Volume of passenger and the Runway condition. Either,,

Saudi Airlines - Mangalore to Jeddah ( Haj & Umrah Visitors)
    Fly Dubai- Mangalore to Dubai.
( soon be shifting to Jebel Ali Airport) Convenient for Abudhabi & Dubai travellers.
Will be the best suitable to operate.

If Qatar airways start operating to Mangalore, can we afford to pay their high cost of tickets. More over the passenger density is not enough for AIE to operate a daily flight to Doha. Then Qatar airways will not think of any weekly flights. It is too early to think of flights from Qatar airways to Mangalore
