Sullia: Ganja, cash, found in police vehicle transporting undertrials

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Jun 26: In an interesting incident, cash and ganja were found from a police vehicle which had brought undertrials for being produced in a Mangalore court.

Five months back, a car in which Avinash, Nitish, Pradeep Mendon, Sushant, Chandrahas Shetty and Vijay Kumar from Mangalore were travelling, was intercepted at Sampaje Kallugundi. They were found to be carrying ganja by keeping it between stocks of vegetables in their car. They were later produced in court and lodged in Madikeri jail.

On Monday June 24, they were produced in a court in Mangalore. After producing them in the court, the accused were being taken back to Madikeri in police vehicle, when policemen from Sullia stopped the vehicle at Paichar in the taluk.

The Sullia police had got information that the undertrials being taken in this vehicle had ganja and cash in their possession. Sullia police circle inspector, Sudarshan, guided the operation, during which tahsildar, Venugopal, was present.

During verification the policemen found 12 grams ganja with Avinash, Rs 8,000 in cash with Pradeep, Rs 7,000 in the possession of Chandrahas, Rs 10,000 with Vijay Kumar, Rs 250 with Nitish, and Rs 11,000 with Sushant. Cash and ganja were seized from the possession of the concerned.

Now, the police have registered another case of ganja trafficking against Avinash.

I fully agree with Mr.Charles D'Mello of Pangal. The police are helping and playing important role in most of the crimes which makes defficult to investigate and nab the culprits.Better to have narco analysis test to all the police and most of our pending cases will be finalised easily beacause police are directly or indirectly involved in these cases.Thanq.

    Home Minister and Local MP

You must take up this matter seriously. This has everything to do with corrupt policemen\officials.
When a culprit is lodged in jail, all valuables and any other items
    are taken off him\her
In this case, they were just transferring the culprits from madikeri jail to Mangalore court and back to Madikeri. How they can suddenly possess ganja and cash with them when they were all the time under police supervision?

Also whoever the informer was, he did not inform Mangalore police but informed Sullia (BJP) police!!!
Is there some game (politics) played there?

Investigate the police of Mangalore\sullia\madikeri and take suitable action against those involved in this kind of frame up

Ganja, cash, found in police vehicle transporting undertrials because these items may not be safe in the remand home while they are away. These items keep moving with the police and the undertrials. Perfect understanding!

No doubt that the police persons are the drug peddlers.....that is why they are unable to curb this menace. All the make is a drama by catching small time ganja growers who are not under their umbrella..!!!????
