M'lore: Centenary celebrations of Prof Krishnamurthy on Aug 23

Mangalore, Jun 26: St Aloysius College, Mangalore will celebrate the birth centenary of professor KA Krishnamurthy who was an eminent professor of Mathematics for four decades.

Professor K A Krishnamurthy  a great teacher of mathematics was admired by eminent persons like Dr TMA Pai, TA Pai and thousands of his students. His services to Mathematics and Mangalore City have left indelible impressions among his students and admirers. He retired from service in 1973 and later died in 1995.

The  main centenary programme will be held in the college on August 23. The department of mathematics of the college will organize several programmesincluding seminars for teachers and students. It has also been decided to organize a programme on mathematicsin the college every year in his memory.

It is planned to bring out a souvenir on this occasion. We need the support and cooperation of former students and admirers of professor Krishnamurthy in the form of articles.
