Consider Bangalore - Mangalore express train daily 2 time. Which is need of the hour. We have plenty of trains from bangalore - Chennai. But from bangalore to our port city Mangalore only one train daily which is not direct. This is the time all mangalorean's & Udupians start apealing railway minister for the train.

Doubling of konkan railway is the priority from mangalore to madagoan.Lot of change will take place for development and economic progress. The railway minister should put the proposal before his term get over by next year.Mangalore requires metro train upto subramium and dharmathala which should hv ring connection taking into rural area. This is a very good opportunity for this govt. for giving more tracks to dakshin district.

Increasing number of trains in Hassan-Mangalore route is not possible because one train takes Two hours to Cross Shiradi-Subrahmanya Ghat section of just 50 KM, and at this rate totally 12 trains can only pass in a day in this Line including profitable goods trains. So, doubling of Lines in ghat Section can solve the problem but it is very costly and also very time consuming .
However, another alternative solution is to extend the Kadoor-Chikkamagalur line via Charmadi-mudugere-Dharmasthala-karkala-udupi. Here since the Steepness of ghat is lesser, the expenses of laying track will be less and trains can run faster as compared to Shiradi-Subramanya section. Already new line up to Chikkamagalur is completed and waiting for inauguration.

Is there any Mangalorean who will take this weekly train to travel to Mangalore which takes 17 - 18 hours. It travels thru Kerala.

Goa - Mangalore intercity express is non stop. How this train will get 1000 passengers at a time in each direction on its daily trip. I can not understand how the cost of running this train will be recovered ???????

Better terminate this weekly express at Kasargod. I don't think any passenger from M'lore will take this train to B'lore. It's clear this train is solely meant for Keralites.

Dinesh, railway distribution happens after considering opinion from regional mp's. mp's should take part of that discussions. Please note not by writing letters. If our Mp doesn't know how to be part of such meeting to bring up his views his people's view what is the use of if know how to write or speak. It is as good as not knowing how to write. No one will consider by writing letter just 2 weeks ahead of decision. Be practical. No one will believe if you say he got a news somehow and wrote a letter.

And you don't try to cash the situation. He has not done his job to represent people of his constituency. Accept that.

I'm hurt as much you are looking @ this news. Stop giving wrong info by just writing letter you can change the decision.

Just 5 days back convenor PV Mohan, Moideen Bava and KCCI member Praveen Bangara met Kharge at Delhi in presence of Oscar. They urged Kharge to make this weekly train to daily. But kharge changed the route itself... Kharge is a True Kannadiga

Which letter dinesh? Does nalini Kumar know how to write? When he had a chance he did nothing. When Mamtha banargee having negotiation in railway he was campaigning here. He didn't even try to be part if that meeting. Read properly.

    Mr. Prem,

Stop your dirty attitude. You don't know Nalin's capability. May be does not speak english, but it does not stop him to write a letter to Minister or concerned authorities. What your english speaking JPH, Moily, Kharge, Oscar are doing in Delhi? When you have your man as rail minister, why can't you take decision in favour of Kannadigas?

There is a bit confusion here with most of readers, this is not a diversion of existing train, it is new train service introduced. Existing trains will travel via Sakleshpur and Arisikere,.

The new train was supposed to run via arsikere and Hassan. But Kerala lobby has again worked. This train is not at all useful for Kannadigas.

This proves how malayalees outsmart Karnataka. Govt is trying to bring kasargod into Karnataka. First let them stop mangalore becoming part of Kerala.

The need of hour was connecting Bangalore and coastal parts of Karnataka by providing more trains. Looks like they are interested on Kerala rather than Karnataka.

See how keralites ute in Karnataka sitting in Kerala. And we publish that news as our achievement .

Our ministered in central are for namesake. Show some result guys.

The above train schedule is very informative and useful.

However, if Daijiworld could publish the complete train time table of all inbound and outbound trains from and to Mangalore Central and Junction, it would be of great help for the passengers, especially now as we have understood from July onwards, the train booking could also be done thru mobile phones and such case train numbers are too important in addition to the timing s and route.

Hope we can see this details soon on Daiji.

2 weeks back Nalin Kumar had got a hint about Mangalore-Bangalore train route change. On June 18th Nalin had written a letter to Rail Mininster Kharge. No congress ministers or MPs JPH, Moily, Oscar has raised voice about this. Our Own railway minister does not care for our demand. It is very pathetic situation.

This is first contribution of useless mallikarjuna kharge for karavali kannaadigas..

As soon as Muniyappa became rail minister, mangalore train was extended to kannur. As soon as kharge became rail minister mangalore-banagalore train route was changed from arsikere to Karala route.

I wonder why these karnataka ministers are like this? We were happy when Kharge was made minister. Now we understood his caliber and his care towards us.
