Mangalore : Fake BBM marks card - St Aloysius files police complaint

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jul 6: A person, who tried to project himself as having passed BBM examination by filing fake marks card, failed in his efforts, as his deceitful act got detected.

On a complaint filed in this connection by the city-based St Aloysius (autonomous) college, a case stands registered against the person concerned at Bunder police station here.

Kushalappa C D from Ponnampet in Kodagu district had got admitted into BBM degree course in the college on January 1, 2011. He however, failed to clear the examination. In the recent past, while filing job application with a concern, ‘Super Fast Consultancy’, Kushalappa had attached Xerox copy of a marks card which showed that he had passed BBM examination. As the officials of the consultancy, during the scrutiny of records, grew suspicious about this particular marks card, and as such, sent it to the principal of St Aloysius College for verification.

The principal, after finding that the marks mentioned in the marks card submitted by the said student differ from the marks card issued by it, filed a police complaint alleging that fake marks card has been created with intent to deceive.

This is a Universal problem in India. There are no shortages of cheats in India. SAC must make forging of certificates more difficult by adding watermarks and digitize and automate their mark sheets. The other way to prevent fake mark sheets is by putting up every one's marks on their official website so that no one can attempt forgery and online verification can help. Nowadays there are firms hired to do educational and experience background check. Even experience certificates are fudged and extra experience is shown to get better and higher paying jobs.

    @Esther, Mumbai

I too worked in Mumbai 2 years before coming to Gulf in different field.
Even now I too have offers from Dubai based companies to work in India (Mumbai, Mangalore or Bangalore) with the same position and higher benefits.
Remember nothing is possible in this world if someone ready work hard, dedicated, punctual and honest.
I will not believe "pustakada badanekayee" from the beginning.
Only 'experience can make man perfect'

@Ronald Aloysius :: You never offered a plausible reason for not accepting a "same position with higher benefits" in India. Why????
    Could be personal?????

    Dear Esther,
I always do business visit to my present branch offices in Bombay and Manglaore in a same official level and grade.
Further more I already worked 20 years in Dubai and 5 years in India before that.
I do not think I may required to work any more than 4 to 5 years so I complete here itself so that I can get better gratuity plus end of service benefits.
If God forbidden and if require I may work later.

    Naveen Kumar,

How can you explain to those blunt heads who promote into the corporate world thousands of Bachelor's Degree holders every year and demand that the the freshers be posted on managerial posts ? They don't know that a Diploma after 10 2 has takes up equal number years' study as that a Bachelor's Degree takes , but with a professional option.

Its us who are invading their prospects of employment. Its time that we start using same tactics in our own nation and throw out all Bengalis/Nepalis. Are we ready ? Certainly not ! Hence, lets be were we belong - i.e. continue doing the slavery !

This is just to control the traffic.
If someone goes with House-Driver or company driver visa, he can apply for a driving license.
Vice versa same way those graduates gone in a drivers visa and now got a good white color jobs need to surrender their Driving license before changing their visa from Driver to Accountant,Admin etc.
This just to control the traffic.

Your example has been repeated by many, many times over in the Gulf Countries, where the work methods and culture is entirely different. The competition is in a different league. Place yourself in Mumbai, could you have achieved that success???? Secondly, change your job, try to get an OM's job in Mumbai.

    Achievements:

    Dear Esthar and Dear Lydia
For your knowledge please read below few examples
There are people whom I know personally who came to Dubai 15 to 18 years before they are just 8th pass 9th failed and came in low category jobs.
    One from ‘Takode’ near Moodbidri
    One from ‘Belle’
    One from ‘Udupi’
Last but not least from ‘Bombay Mahim’ (passed only SSC)
Today they are the owners of their own companies in Sharjah & Dubai,
    a) electromechanical
    b) Electric switch-Gear manufacturing co.
    c) Hotel – Restaurant
    d) Marine safety supply co and Life Boats repairing specialist respectively.
They have employed many Engineers and top graduates to work in their companies’ equivalent to their age even they have no knowledge of engineering and graduation then.
Do they need to give the proprietorships of their company to these employees and they have to take workers post because they are Graduate Engineers , Rank holders and these owners 8th pass 9th fail.

Nothing great about it, because by fake degrees given through tutorials in Puttur and Udupi some have become Principlas, bank officers and some still some have reached still greater heights. Now these fake tutorials do not exists but the people who got degrees still in power. Those who have several degrees in different streams some are fake.

    Lydia
    It’s not true.
I came to Dubai 20 years back (1993) after 10 12 (PUC) as a waiter in Restaurant.
I could not pursue graduation due to my family responsibility as an elder son even Pompeii collage was walking distance from my house then.
I had to deliver the food to customer by cycle in a hot son 48 degree temperature.
But whenever I used go for a delivery I used observe those offices what kind of work they do, how they work? etc and I was impressed the work of shipping companies ,busy schedule and to meet the deadlines of Air cargo Sea cargo and Land transport within GCC and even MENA (middle east and northern Africa),Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and even till Russian border, Day and night work but no time limit.
I wanted to enter a shipping co but my qualification didn’t permit it.
I did not lost hope, I managed to get a driving license (it’s like a diploma) those days and managed to get a job in famous Norwegian shipping company as a driver.
Believe me within a year I myself learned all sipping as well as Customs clearance procedure and promoted as a documentation clerk and went on without any training.
Today I am working in a reputed shipping company as an Operations Manager , number three post in that company after GM and Finance manager.
I appointed many double post graduates (like MCOM, MBA)to work under me.
Still they are not in confidence to work independently after 3 years of training as a spoon feeding.
But they need bigger post higher salary and minimum working hours because of their degree.
Let me know if you have anybody who is ready to learn and work hard and come up in life.

    Mr.Aloysius,

I wonder why what I wrote should affect you at all ? You don't come under the category of people I mentioned 'not High School pass' ?? Unless of-course you are guilty of really toppling someone really qualified for the post you are holding.

In the mighty Gulf, I have seen a Gold Medalist in Mechanical Engineering crumbling to knees and begging for the post he deserved over a Civil Engineering candidate because the latter had come through influence.

Nevertheless, I feel Esther from Mumbai has written a comment above which I guess is in reply to your post - I anticipate what you would have said to her.

    Lydia,
Gold medalist could get better jobs in India itself like in 'TATA,Reliance,ONGC,Birla,Bajaj, OTIS,Glaxo etc, etc'
If I would have completed my graduation today I wouldn't have come to Gulf.
Only half baked should go outside India for finding jobs.
Those who Rank holder and Gold medalist and for a best Example a Good Doctor no need to leave India...Plenty of patients he will get in India itself that's why for good treatment I come to India, specially utive health check up every 6 months nothing can math my India.
Today I am working here because I am not a graduate (half baked)

Just cannot believe that these young students in prime time of their career are involved in fake racket. There is already a case of 8 out of 12 people ed for Govt jobs being arrested for fake certificates. If the government had not detected the racket these government employees would have been a set of corrupted employees. All these people should be counselled very well. There is no point in naming and shaming them.

Govt. officials and machinery take for granted the weakness of the citizens. Here we appreciate St. Aloysius College for filing the a complaint against fake marks card.

Good work by SAC. All institutions must take this as an example and file cases against all certificates that proved fake.

At the same time, the firm too must file case against the candidate. This way, a pseudo contestant will learn that by faking he is blocking a honest candidate's future and will undergo punitive measures for his misdeeds.

Lydiamma, brand new certificates and Marks cards are issued in collaboration with higher police officers in Mangalore, specially for those seeking employment in the Gulf countries. As you say, St. Aloysious did a commendable job. He was unfortunate, but thousands sail through! India mahathme.

    Amar Nathal,

With the help of Photo Shop or Editable Softwares, any name on an original certificate can be replaced with another one. The one who claims to hold such a (duplicate) certificate must have a conscience to admit that he is fake. If such honesty belies with us, nobody will go for a fake certificate - Police and Higher authorities who come at a later stage, are made corrupt us by us, by asking their help for this kind of works.

Agree - Gulf based employees go for maximum faked certificates because certain visas depend on specific level of education whereas most of above 40 workforce in the Gulf are not even High School pass.

At the same time, genuine Bachelor's Masters Degree holders humble down to do low category position because above illiterate thugs grace managerial positions merely due to their experience.

Gulf companies are not stupid as we think to appoint a manager without qualification just because of experience.
Output is more important than education in bio-data.
Because they know how get maximum out from their employees because they are the one who invested in that organisation.
