Melroy D'Souza elected prez of Milagreans Gulf Assn

Dubai, Jul 7: The general body meeting of Milagreans Gulf Association Dubai took place on Friday July 5 at the Ramee Royal Hotel Bur Dubai.
 
Elections for new Office bearers took place and animator Melwyn Lewis conducted the elections. In a close fight Melroy D’Souza won the election for the post of president whereas Flavia Mathais was unanimously chosen as general secretary.

Other office bearers were also chosen and the new committee members are as follows: President Melroy D’Souza, general secretary Flavia Mathias, treasurer Ritson Lewis, sports secretary Dominic D’Souza, cultural secretaries Priyanka Dias and Hemanth Kumar, event coordinators Shalet Lewis and Jason Correa.

Melwyn Lewis agreed to continue as the animator for the group under whose guidance the earlier committee had worked and successfully convened a number of activities and programs. The outgoing president Jason Correa thanked the members of the association for the support in the previous years and handed over the mantle to Melroy and wished the new committee all the best.

Milagreans Gulf Association Dubai (MGAD) which came into existence in the year 2008 with the motto of KUMOKH (Kallianpurians United Mission Offering Knowledge and Help) have successfully organized a number of Fund raising events to cater various noble causes and helped a number of people and institutions back home in Kallianpur and surrounding places.

Activities and events for the coming year were chalked out and the meeting concluded with a sumptuous buffet and with the traditional Baila.
