Bantwal, Jul 8: A thief entered a house in Kambalabettu village within the limits of Vittal Police station on Sunday July 7 night, but had to abort his effort midway, and was also caught by the locals. However, he succeeded in giving the people a slip and escaping.

On Sunday morning, family members of Hamid Saheb living near the Dargah in Kambalabettu had left their home to visit a relative. Hamid is employed abroad. When they came back at around 8 pm, they saw that a car had been parked in front of their home, but did not give much importance to it. When they entered, they found that the front and back doors of their house had been broken. Doors of three cupboards were open, and items in the house were strewn around.

When the family members were checking what had happened, they heard the sound of someone running away from behind the house. When they raised an alarm, a neighbour named S K Mohammed and another succeeded in nabbing the culprit. But the thief succeeded in wriggling out of their hands and running away through a nearby plantation.

A bag belonging to the thief, containing some iron equipment and fancy items like bangles, chain, finger rings, etc stolen from the house, was found in the premises. Vittal police rushed to the spot and conducted a search operation with the help of villagers, but did not succeed in locating the thief.

The Maruti Swift car found parked in front of the house was found to have gone missing afterwards. Some said that this car was found parked at Shantinagar some distance away later. As the car bore Kerala registration number, it is believed that the thief belongs to a gang from that state.

On Monday morning, it was seen that thieves had broken open the doors of a provision store run by Sulaiman Pilipe near Kundadka Temple in Vittal Mudnoor village. They took away Rs 25,000 in cash. The theft would have occurred after Sunday midnight, as the owner was inside the shop till 10.30 pm. A complaint in this connection was filed in Vittal police station.

    R. Bhanderker,

    Thanks for your comments.

Yesterday was a day, free of political comments and neither subject related. Just crazy comments to laugh.

FYI . what I meant "inject" (Finance/Capital) in the new business. You are welcome to be a CEO.

The robber will be caught ultimately.

    Have a good day.

    Sandy Sir,
Government is not considered a reliable partner Sir, even though they 'sleep' always.
Not only they sleep always, they are inert too. They seldom act.
Thanks a lot friends for all your suggestions.

Going forward we need CCTV in every house, school, hospital, religious places, bus stops, Railway station and all public places. The time is now changed and we have to be high tech. There are thieves, rapists, murderers and cheaters around us.

Dear Eskey, many takers for sleeping Partners offer. But you need to open Company in Rajastan or Haryana since their CMs’ are willing to change the rule like they did to favour someone in Delhi for land dealings

Dear Karan, even CCTV does not help most of the time. Else Police would have caught many thieves and terrorists till date. Needless to say, take the example of Maharashtra Assembly Building CCTV footage where 3 MLAs’ beat Police Man on duty red and blue but Home Minister Patil said footage was not clear to nab the culprits
