Idols stolen from Moodbidri basadi recovered in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Jul 14 (PTI): The Karnataka police recovered miniature idols made of precious metals stolen from the Jain shrine in Moodbidri, about 37 km from Mangalore, from the Odisha capital on Saturday.

Also seized were 1.5 kg of gold ingots, gem stones and Rs 2 lakh in cash from a house at Chandrashekharpur here, the sources said. The recovery was valued at Rs three crore, they said.

“We have seized three idols and some gold ingots. The gold ingots were made after melting some idols,” the sources said.

The Bhubaneswar commissionerate of police helped its Mangalore counterpart in recovering the stolen items from the house of the father-in-law of Santosh Das, alias Ghanshyam Das, a peon in the State secretariat, who was absconding.

“Recovery of the stolen idols from the house of Das’ father-in-law has proved his involvement in the crime,” a member of the Karnataka police team said.

The police of both states did not divulge how they came to know about Das’ involvement in the theft.

The shrine’s CCTV camera had recorded a masked man in a black jacket entering the premises.

At least 15 idols made of gold and encrusted with pearls, precious stones and diamonds were stolen on the night of July 5 from Siddantha Mandir of Guru Basadi in Moodabidri, locally known as ‘Jain Kashi’.

The Karnataka Police have become more efficient since the new congress government formed. The unnecessary works like moral policing cases, catching cows from the cow transporters has reduced. All this matters for the police to work peacefully.
The old cows and oxen are sold because the people cannot feed them anymore, few small time cow catchers have joined hands with them and have got promoted themselves from Yamaha to scorpio’s.Anyhow the work load of police has been reduced and they can implement law and order more efficiently.

This was possible because now the waiters of Lodgings in Moodabidri / Mangalore have stopped keeping eyes on boys & Girls of different community since moral policing is not possible any more. So they have started keeping eyes on outside guests in Lodges. In fact the Police of Moodabidri gathered information about this Orissa Gang from the Lodges in Moodbidri.

God created Diamond & Sand with same Hand.
Mother Earth Created Iron Ore & Golden Ore in same Womb.
But only for man the Gold is precious than Iron and Diamond is Precious than Sand. For God all are equal.
So, God is not impressed by our Gold or Diamond offerings.
Hence,Keep every thing in Museum as Suggested by P. S. Shetty here below.

Every bad incident has a lesson to be learnt.
Now at least let such unique artifacts be stored in a Public museum so that all art lovers can see it. Salar Jung Museum of Hyderabad became world famous because Haji Salar Jung collected artifacts from all over the world and displayed it under one roof. Even Mysore Museum has become famous in India because Mysore Maharaja who was art lover unlike Tippu, stored unique things in one place. So let us have one world famous Museum in Mangalore. The Present Mangalore Museum is not up to the mark and 99% of DK/Udupi people have not visited this museum. So, let us collect all the unique things from all the Temple/Basadis and also from individual holders and display the same under one roof in Mangalore Museum, of course under high security. Presently the beautiful idols in Basadis are open for viewing only for Jains and other communities are deprived from seeing such beautiful things.
God only created Gold, stone and Soil too. So for God the Gold,Mud or Stone are of same value. Only we Indians think that God can be pleased by decorating idols with Gold - diamond. Let us stop this foolishness so that we can keep away the thieves from desecrating such Holy places.
Flower is the most beautiful creation of Nature AND Fruits are the Tastiest Creation of Nature. So let us offer only Flower and Fruit to please God, and desist from offering artificial creation of man like Gold silver diamond.

I appreciate the work done by our Police force. What I mean is they are lacking motivation and recognition. They can not file FIR if the culprit belongs to any strong man.

Side effects After several riots across India, law and order problems aggravated everywhere.

Most of the criminals in these riots are not punished for no evidence. Masterminds of Riots are responsible for this situation.

Murder, rapes and robberies have increased many fold.

Since one of the Jain Association has decided to meet President of India to complaint about this theft, I think State Government and Coastal Police Department woke up in time to avoid major embarrassment for newly formed Congress Government in our State. So, we need to know to press the nerve epicenter of any Government Authority and they will act soon to get the result

In Surat city of Gujarat 50% of Textile factory labours are hardworking Honest Oriya people because Gujarathis are not so hard working, they are only good in Business.
