Mangalore: 24-year-old youth allegedly rapes, robs elderly woman

Mangalore, Jul 15: In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old youth allegedly raped a 69-year-old woman and robbed her of gold ornaments on the night of Sunday July 14.

The accused Nagesh (24), is a resident of Chintamani in Chikkaballapur.

The incident occured at Saripalla under Mangalore rural police limits. The woman's daughter is constructing a house near her own house, and Nagesh was working at the site.

On Sunday night, he reportedly came to the woman's house when she was alone, and allegedly raped her. He also took away her gold chain and other ornaments. He then fled from the spot.

Angered by the incident, the locals caught him on Monday July 15 morning and handed him over to the police.

A case has been registered by Mangalore rural police. Nagesh has been arrested and futher investigations are on.

    I hope that you will unequivocally condemn the way Feku is treating his wife. She is living in a pathetic condition and that also monitored by Feku goons, media cannot interact with her because Feku is a dictator in Gujarat.     What a shameful act...really shame that it happened in a beautiful city of ours. The real 'Nag'

    Don't hang him to death..but stone him to death and set an example...so that even the most strong hearted and daring falls weak when he thinks of a dirty act like this.

    I even commented a day or two days back not to link religion and political parties to such incidents - but there are still a lot of people who make a hue and cry and link it to politics. I hope they learn and correct themselves.

    Please be sensible enough to identify what is politically motivated and the incidents for personal gains and satisfaction.

    Many comments on political party and to on rape case... Why should we blame on a particular party? Is it govt/public is responsible for this case? A political party cant stop this kind rapes and crime. It will happen with any party may be it was in BJP rule and now Congress and future with JDS if it comes for rule. These happens all over the world, where in presidential rule/communist rule and not in only republic country like India.     I agree completely with Sachidanand Shetty. Rape has nothing to do with congress or BJP. But one thing is sure, crime rates have increase significantly during last 2 months. I hope our congress supporters will honestly agree with me. Govt has to take actions immediately on all wrongdoers for the safety of the society and people.

    Last 5 years people blamed BJP for each and everything. But we BJP supporters were not irritated, we just ignored. I hope Congress supporters will not get irritated at my comments and just ignore it. Especially one hard core congi agent has been commenting only to blame BJP. I would like to mention few points about his comments.

    1. Karnataka lost Ranaji Trophy Semi Final, he blamed BJP Govt.
    2. A sportsman from Puttur/Bhantwal lost in National games, he blamed BJP.
    3. An industrial shed caught fire in Magadi Road, bangalore, BJP is the reason for it.
    4. Heavy rain washed away crops in Raichur, Davanagere, BJP caused the flood.
    5. A person died of accident in NH 48, again BJP is the cause for this.
    6. 4 year old baby raped by a man in Gulbarga, BJP told him to do.
    7. 2 students from hunsur were kindapped and later found dead in Kolar. BJP made this murder.
    8. Actress Hemashree was killed by her husband. BJP had told her husband to do this.
    9. Nityananda's video went to public. BJP released this CD.
    10. Bangalore Mangalore train was cancelled for a day due to land sliding in Sakleshpur Ghat. Actually BJP went there and pushed the hills on rail track.
    11. A child labour was found begging in Mangalore, it is because of BJP.
    12. BJP donated 100 crores to Hindu Matt. BJP is only for majority.
    13. BJP donated 50 crores to christian development. BJP is trying to fool people.
    14. DVS laid foundation for HAJ Bhavan in Bangalore. BJP is wooing muslims for votes.
    15. Four suspected terrorists were found in Hubli and Manipal. BJP is targetting minority..

    The very reason that you DO NOT KNOW how to talk to a woman with respect speaks volumes of your character. I rest my case!

    It is a real sad situation, where a woman of that age was violated. Instead of extending your sympathy and speaking of measures to be taken to curb this, you play the blame game.

    First learn to RESPECT women on a public forum and then try pointing fingers at the government or the administration. If you change, the world changes!
