Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore

Mangalore, Jul 20: A young doctor from Subhashnagar in Pandeshwar died in a road accident which took place near Polali Dwara, Bajpe police station limits on Friday July 19 morning.

The deceased is identified as Dr Harshavardhan G Ullal (28).

On Thursday night, Harshavardhan had been to his friend's place in Kaikamba. On Friday early morning, the young doctor left for Pandeshwar by bike.

On Friday morning at around 6.30 am, when Harshavardhan reached near Polali Dwara, a vehicle hit the doctor's bike on the rear and fled. The doctor was thrown off from the bike and died as he sustained grave injuries.

The locals who passed by the spot later informed Bajpe police. Police who arrived at the spot took the body to AJ Hospital.

Harshavardhan who had completed his MBBS studies was planning to pursue higher studies. He had done his schooling in Mangalore and then in Middle East.

He is survived by his parents who stay abroad and a brother who works in a ship.

A case has been registered in Bajpe police station.

It is suspected that the doctors bike might have been hit by a tempo or any other heavy vehicle.

Dr.Harshavardhan lost life to reckless driver's act. Medicine, a noble profession indeed, Harsha the budding doctor would have touched many lives of suffering people. Many people will miss healing experience from Dr.Harsha. But today he has been deprived of rendering service to society by a reckless driver. We wont be able to heal the wounds of family members n friends, brought on by Loss of life of a young doc. Polali Dwara is a notorious place for accidents, crime. Vast area is a barren land, one big farm-house stands close to Polali dwara - that of Ganapathi Bandarkars and sons.

Road accident deaths should be treated at par with Airline accident deaths. The number of people who are dying on Indian roads has gone up substantially over the years and alarming. India is losing billions of dollars worth manpower every year due to these road accidents.

We, as family friends and relatives of Ganesh Ullal and Surekha - parents of Dr. Harshvardhan, are devastated to hear about his sad and accidental death in this hit and run case. Dr. Harsha was a studious and budding doctor aspiring to pursue higher studies in his field of excellence is so cruelly taken away by the fate due to the carelessness of the 'hit & run' driver! We have no words to express our grief and our hearts go out to the entire Ullal family, their vast circle of friends and relatives in their hour of immense personal loss of such a budding talent. We can only pray to the Almighty to grant courage and fortitude to the family and their vast legion of friends to bear this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in peace.

If the driver of the hit and run vehicle had stopped and taken him to the hospital, probably he could have survived. Most of the deaths occur this way when the injured are left at the accident site and they bleed to death.

May his soul rest in peace and may God grant his family the courage to bear this irreparable loss.

This will continue until or unless our Govt proivde pencing on all roads, like any other cities or countires have it. Just look at the middle east countries, they were very poor even no education 25 yrs back and now see them how they live and what their countries look like... it look live heaven...that's the reason once our people go abroad they don't wanna caome back for good...

Flavia, inspite of broad, walled, concrete roads in the middle east, drastic and terrible accidents happen there. Its not the roads, if the drivers are careful, not speeding up, such accidents can be avoided. @6am the road must be empty, still this accident has happened. This is called destiny, whatever God has planned no one can avoid it. We need to pray for safe travelling always. Say short prayer before you start your journey always.

A precious life, who would have saved several lives from decease died due to accident!
Why can't we make our land more safer for people? Why can't we make drivers more responsible to care for peoples life?
May his soul rest in peace!
Can not imagine, how difficult it would be to his close ones to bear the loss!
