Kundapur: Police nab two for illegal cattle transportation, seize 20 buffaloes

Silvester D'Souza
Daijiworld Media Network - Kundapur

Kundapur, Jul 20: The police on Saturday July 20 arrested two persons and seized 20 buffaloes that were being transported illegally to Kerala.

The arrested are Abdul Rashid (39) and Divakar K Nair (42), both residents of Kasargod.

The police received an anonymous call at around 2.45 am about cattle being transported to Kerala. A team of police immediately swung into action and waylaid a lorry bearing Kerala registration (KL 14 J 0251) near Hattiangadi.

On questioning, the man who was driving the vehicle gave his name as Abdul Rashid and the person on the passenger seat identified himself as Dinakar K Nair. They said that they were transporting the cattle to Kasargod to sell them to butchers.

The police found 20 buffaloes loaded in the lorry. They had been reportedly stolen from in and around Kundapur taluk, it is learnt.

The police seized the vehicle and arrested the duo.

A case has been registered in Kundapur police station.

In some gulf countries the police are busy locating whisky smuggling and here its cow smuggling. In the end mentally we are the same. Why not action against beef export yet.

Dear Daiji followers and Followers of political parties does any one here know the meaning of "Illegal" . You just answer me do you people support illegal things , if no then why so much hype when something illegal is done. Dear daiji readers whether , buffaloes, ox, cow , calf , sheep or anything no one has right to steal it from someones house. People do it in our native so it is called illegal . And when cattle news comes people start bringing politics into it. Reason a cow gives milk and it runs someones house , and who has given right to steal it. If that is right , then even other illicit activities which are going on is also right. If it is legal then no one has the right to protest against it . For Hindus cow is god respect it for others it is a food . For Christians Pork is superlike and for Muslim it is Haram. So my point is respect each and everyone views and religion and , do not support illegal things . And many in Native to make hefty money they steal Cattles literally without any fear and if Cops stop it then we say cops are busy saving cattle's. Why so . Tomorrow if a girl is raped or something wrong is done and we want same police to act immediately . So why don't we allow them to do their duty rather than we simply complaining.

    Hi Bhandarkar,

Your current comments reminded me of your last comments on Cock robbery in the police station a few months back. Now a days the city buses are so crowded that there is hardly any place to place extra luggage. (forget the ducks)

DK police are busy in catching cows and buffaloes. Robbers are busy looting houses, shops and ware houses. Doctor's say beef is nutritious and no doubt beef is a delicacy to soldiers and super delicacy to many states. Indian beef is imported world wide with huge demand. Saving and starving few animals does not help instead it will create constant demand. Enjoy Yoko beef sizzlers(well done) throughout Maharashtra.

    Are Langoolaji...
So you had seen Cocks in service buses during your younger days here-How come no Cock Pit?
    Not even one?
In any case now you do not see Cocks in service buses.Cocks now usually pop out in City Buses, like it did in route no 47 the other day, and created a ruckus. For those who do not know..Read 'Conductor Repeatedly
Rapes' story in this web-site a few days ago.And Langoolaji...Nowadays conductors of city buses here, also know how to use Internet,Morph photos of girls, know to stalk girls, enter her home ,when her parents are away and all that. Your Washington
DC and all must be quite 'backward' in all this! How are conductors and bus drivers there?
We have advanced sorry progressed very much as all this will tell you.
How is it in buses in Washington now? Are Cocks and Ducks allowed
inside?Heard everything is clean there....Washing I think is compulsory in Washington...Yes or No??

    According to wikipedia.

Hi Peace Lover, If you need one cow for the milk, you can transport them in a minitruck. It is very simple. But if a person like me need one cow and transport 10 in Maruti Omni, you can complain to police and catch me. The same thing has happend here.
