Mangalore: Dance-music show by St Aloysius students to help HIV-affected kids

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jul 23: In a laudable initiative, young and enthusiastic students of St Aloysius PU College have come together to help HIV-affected children by organising a dance-music show on Saturday, July 27.

'Exquisite ’13' is a unique show, because it has been initiated by very young people who think big for the community. The show will be held at the Loyola hall of St Aloysius Pre-Univeristy College from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.

The whole show has been spearheaded by Vaishnavi Pavithran, Gavin Rodrigues and Neil Rego. They are  supported by Reona, Andrea and Vaibhav.

There will be dance performances by Silver Steppers, headed by Gavin Rodrigues, champions of the recently held 'Yaya Ind-Ya Maya Ya', national-level Konkani dance contest. Gavin was also the winner in duet category along with Vaishnavi Pavithran.

There will be musical performances by Band Ecstasy, headed by Neil Rego, which includes the students of the college.

Though the show is free to all and there will not be any entry tickets, any donations for the cause will be accepted by the organisers during the show.

All the proceeds will be donated to Jeevadaan, a residential care and support unit for HIV affected women and children, located near Kinnikambla, on the Mangalore-Moodbidri highway.

The college administration is fully supporting this noble event and the students too are enthusiastic. When asked what inspired them to come up with the novel idea, Vaishanvi said, “The society has given us so much. We realized we owe a lot to society and it dawned upon us that it is up to us to help those who are less fortunate."

Daijiworld is the media sponsor for this event.

We are regular contributors to "Jeevadaan" the organization run by priests. They really do take good care of the neglected lot. Of course they need lot of money to for medicine, food and other amenities to "HIV" affected children and adults. A commendable step initiated by the youths. Good luck and God bless you all for your good work.

I am sure their music and dance show will be as beautiful as their smile. Young students dedicating a show for a special cause of society itself is BEAUTIFUL as such thoughts springs from beautiful hearts. All the best.
