Kasargod: Injured sea turtle found at beach, locals to the rescue

Kasargod, Jul 26: A sea turtle was the cynosure of all eyes at Kadappura beach here on Thursday July 25.

The sea turtle, weighing about 45 kg and said to be around 35 years old, was found to be injured.

Sea turtles are among the world's endangered species.

The sea turtle was rescued by locals Azeez, Faisal, Riyaz, Ashraf, Fayaz and others. They also informed the forest department.

Forest officer Vinod and his team took possession of the sea turtle. It will be taken to Neeleshwar and handed over to a team engaged in the protection of sea turtles.

After the sea turtle recovers from its injury, it will be released back into the sea, said the forest officials.

    Please sent this turtle to Pilikula. They have a great team there. There is one turtle with two flippers missing.

    Dont send turtles to pilkula they are not taken care properly and die and secondly it is sea turtle not fresh water one.
