Man from Kerala held for selling ganja to students in Moodbidri

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jul 28: Moodbidri police have arrested a man on charges of selling ganja near schools and colleges.

The accused, Mohammed alias Barboza was arrested on Friday July 26 night at Mantradi, Moodbidri.

Originally from Kerala, he had bought land in Matradi a few years ago and taken up rubber plantation.

He used to get ganja from Kerala and supply to students here.

Based on a complaint filed by an eductional institution, the police tracked him down.

The police received reliable information that he was going to sell ganja near Citylight hostel, and raided the spot from where he was arrested.

The police seized seven packets of ganja from the accused.

Mohammed alias Barboza was produced in court and remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.

Meanwhile, a private college in Moodbidri reportedly suspended four of its students for consuming drugs.

Mr Peter perreira and all other haters who has commented against Keralites on the above post do you think you people are great? You people are jealous of us. We are smart and hard working people and are preferred over kannadigas anywhere even in your own land we are preferred cuz u r lazy. Don't blame us for ur incapability. By making this I am no way supporting the criminal who sold ganja to students. Because there are so many karnataka pimps in Mysore will all of u tell that all people in Karnataka are pimps??Likewise one person's action cannot be considered to judge entire lands people. There is no point in talking to narrow minded people like u but I cannot take the mud you have tried to throw on us. Its high time that we realise that we all are Indians. And one more thing a citizen of India can buy land anywhere in India. This comment is not to hurt kannadigas. Its for those haters and crooked people who have made rude remarks on my state.

    Dear all!
Ganja/charas/brownsugar/heroin/LSD gives you a super kick!
The advantage is that no one smell your breath like alcohol.
I tried it a couple of times.
But getting addicted to drugs is
    very very dangerous.
Please do not try these drugs!
Once a person gets addicted,It is very very difficult to get out of these drugs!
    Be very careful!
    Have a nice day!

I don't think you should blame him for selling ganja as you are the one to control yourself, if you don't want to get into habit no one can force you into it, as the popular saying you can take the horse to water....... But here the horse itself it jumping into the river.

Guys, it is wrong to condemn the entire Keralites, just because, one man from Kerala was caught in selling Ganja. Prior to this, I have read in Daijiworld about several men from Karnataka doing the same business. Whoever, does it, it is a crime and he must be severely punished. Several thousands of students from Kerala studies in educational institutions in South Kanara and Udipi and such institutions and related fields grew because of them. May be, this man from Kerala must have been targeting them. So, instead of throwing stones at this neighboring state who continue to contribute to the South Canara economy, better do something to prevent drug menace in Mangalore which affects not only Mangaloreans, but also Keralites.

    Good work by Police.

A lot of KErlaites are indulged in rubber plantations in Kundapur Taluk like Kollur, Jadkal, Mudoor..etc. Police never go to these places for inspection as the forests are very dense. Some authority should take action to check these areas and ensure that no illegal activites are done there. Keralites have kept their state very clean and green by not allowing any major power projects or industires but they are spread out in all other states/countries for jobs in heavy industries..!!! Although Keralites are hardworking they are very cunning and NEVER RELIABLE. They speak their own dialect and ignore any other language. God save India.

Some of these Malyaali's sell their 1 acre of land at kerala and from that same amount purchase 10 acres of land either in D.K Dist or in Udupi or our other part of karnataka,by hook or crook they cover surroung vacant govt land if any, later they convert paddy fields into rubber, they earn huge but thier lust for money will not end by this earning, next their task is non other than raising ganja at far end of their plantation,We should take proper care about some of these Malayaalis,or else one day they will force us to live in Bidar or gulbarga or at Raichur!!!!!
