Bomb blast in Guwahati, five injured


Guwahati, July 28 (IANS): A bomb blast near the busy Paltan Bazaar police station in Guwahati Sunday evening left at least five people injured, police said.

Guwahati's Senior Superintendent of Police A.P. Tiwari said five people sustained injuries in the blast that occurred in an area close to the railway station and usually crowded.

Since the blast occurred on a Sunday, the place was not as crowded as it usually is, he added.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion.
