Pakistani family sets dog loose on policeman


Islamabad, July 29 (IANS): A man and his three sons here in the Pakistani capital have been arrested after they set their dog loose on a police team when the officials went to their house to inquire about a theft. A policeman was bitten by the dog.

Police told Dawn that a generator was stolen from a restaurant, and they were informed that it was being used in a house in Dhoke Elahi Bux area.

A police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Mohammad Rizwan was sent to the house.

When police found the generator in the lawn of the house, the residents said they would not allow them to take it away.

A heated argument ensued, following which the residents let their dog loose on the police officials.

Policeman Zulfiqar Ali was bitten by the dog.

Another police team was called and the suspects were arrested.
