Beware : AI Express reduces Dubai - Mangalore baggage limit to 20 kg

Daijiworld Media Network - Dubai

Dubai, Jul 31: Bad news for passengers travelling from Dubai to Mangalore Airport. Air India Express which was the first airline to fly Dubai - Mangalore directly, and which is currently operating two flights a day to Mangalore, has announced reduction in baggage limit due to load problem.

The new baggage policy will come into effect from August 22, 2013. Those who book the ticket on or after August 22, 2013 can carry only 20 kg baggage instead of the current 30 kg.

There will be no change in AI Express baggage policy from Mangalore to Dubai, as it has been allowing only 20 kg of free baggage since its operation started in 2006.

Speaking to daijiworld, an AI official in Dubai said that the new policy is applicable not only to Mangalore but to all the destinations from Dubai to Indian airports on Air India Express only.

One way they said KWD 130/- This is too much, in the end she went to Mangalore by Oman Airlines - Spice jet total KWD 86 return ticket, baggage 30 Kgs. Plus very good food. Unanswered questions if UPA GOVT answer this all Q problem solved for MAHARAJA.....................

Who is responsible for the step-by-step destruction of Air India and wasteful expenditure of our taxes?

Why their profitable routes, which had more than 85% occupancy rates, were either shut down or given away in bilateral to domestic and foreign carriers?

Why an airline that had a turnover of Rs7,000 crore per year placed orders for 68 aircraft worth Rs 35,000 crore?

Why the airline was forced to form a joint venture with a Singapore-based company and share 40% of its annual earnings of Rs 50-60 crore in ground handling?

Why landing in Delhi and Mumbai has been sold to private companies below market price?

Why there is duplication of expenses for Air India and India Airlines?

Now 20 kg giving full room to foreign airlines and private airlines to take over MAHARAJA.

Every tax-payer in this country has the right to know why Air India is not able to recover from its losses. The government infusion is actually the money we pay as taxes. The net worth of Air India right now is negative. The government of India should take serious actions to help the carrier to compete with the private players.

    !!!!!!!!!GOD BLESS INDIA.........

Please stop thingking like the olden days where commodities were not available in India and were waiting to receive imported goods from the Gulf. Nowadays when you get the same branded goods in India, buy from India itself. People of India are not really fascinated to receive imported goods anymore.

Idea behind allowing 20 kg may be:
01)They can carry more fuel on way back.

    03) The people will remit more money and buy their requirements in India so that rupee fall can be averted

Extremely bad news !!! so give an importance to other airlines which is carrying 40 kg minimum, further AI is famous for the name "DELAY FLIGHT " (12 - 14 hrs) now it is bringing new rules to make suffer the passenger and intimating other flights to follow its rules. So if a passenger cannot carry his wearing cloth ( Heavy jeans trousers) and other V V Important things why should he has pay for AI. So ultimately this is the dissolution of the carrier and my advise to AI if you cannot run the Air business better to give flights on contract to some good companies like Ittihad, Emirates thank u daiji for disclosing the matter to open the eyes of passengers.
