Sushant launches song 'Gulabi', introduces Vani Kapoor

Mumbai, Aug 1 (IANS): Actor Sushant Singh Rajput Thursday launched the song "Gulabi" from his forthcoming romantic comedy "Shuddh Desi Romance" and introduced his co-star and newcomer Vaani Kapoor to the media.

Composed by Sachin-Jigar, the song’s lyrics are by Jaideep Sahni and it has been sung by Jigar Saraiya and Priya Saraiya. Brinda has choreographed it.

One film old, Sushant, who made a successful transition from TV to movies with “Kai Po Che!”, said the film focuses on conflicts between love and commitment.

"The film's story is about three youngsters, who listen to their hearts. They have their own ideas and beliefs about love,” Shushant told reporters at the launch here.

“Sometimes we want everything in life but it is only when we get it, we realise it is not how they seemed to be," he added while talking about the essence of the movie.

Directed by “Band Baaja Baaraat” fame director Maneesh Sharma and written by Jaideep, it also stars Rishi Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra and Vaani.

Vaani, who is making her debut with the film, said she had to struggle a lot to join the cast.

"I got the film after a lot of struggle. I had to really convince Maneesh that I was right choice for the role," she said.

A big fan of romantic comedies, she added: “The film has a new story. It is a very freshly packaged film and has a very different kind of romance.

“Shuddh Desi Romance” is all set to release Sep 6.
