Mangalore: Advanced dialysis unit inaugurated at Unity Health Complex

Mangalore, Aug 3: The advanced dialysis unit and mobile critical care unit of Unity Health Complex were inaugurated here on Saturday August 3.

The inauguration was done by minister for health and family welfare U T Khadar.

Dr K C Prakash, head of nephrology, Apollo First Medical Hospital and head, Satellite Dialysis Centre, Chennai, was the guest of honour.

Dr C P Habeeb Rahman, chairman, Unity Care and Health Services presided over the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, U T Khadar lauded Unity Hospital for introducing an advanced dialysis unit and said that in the field of medicine and healthcare, Unity Hospital has made a good name for itself.

"Unity Hospital is known for its good service in the entire state. It is a role model to all hospitals in terms of facilities. Let the maximum number of people benefit from the new facility," he said.

The inauguration was followed by a formal programme at IMA House, Attavar Road.

Speaking at the formal function, Khadar appreciated Unity Care and Health Services for introducing the new facilities and said that the hospital has taken a big stride forward by doing so.

He also said that the state health ministry will soon be setting up a dialysis centre in every taluk so that people in every nook and corner of the state can benefit. He also spoke on the role of doctors in people's lives and said that a doctor should be ready to serve people anywhere and anytime, especially in rural areas where healthcare is not advanced. He entreated the doctors to pay more attention to rural health.

Ajmal M Habeeb, manging director, and Ashfaq M Habeeb, executive director of Unity Care and Health Services were present.
