Police sources said that an intense investigation is on and no stone is left unturned in finding out the motive and the culprits. However police have not been able to get any leads so far.

The newly-constituted team will be working directly under the supervision of IGP Pratap Reddy and will have four DCPs and inspectors each along with the PSI and constables of Barke police station.

A gunshot was fired at Vijayendra Bhat when he was on his way to PVS from his flour mill at Dambel near Ashoknagar here. Two unidentified men who arrived on a mobike had shot at Vijayendra Bhat. However, Bhat escaped by a whisker as the bullet hit his car.

The incident is being investigated from all angles. The CCTV camera on Mannagudda – Ballalbagh road has captured blurred images of the suspects who had shot at Bhat. More information is being gathered by questioning some people, said a police officer. The investigation is proceeding in the right direction and the police hope to find the culprits soon.

The exact reason for the incident is still not known. Threatening calls from underworld don Vicky Shetty are also being verified.

I remember a famous quote which seems appropriate here.
“Never give innever, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
