Kundapur, Aug 6: A person who went fishing near Beejady here on Tuesday August 6 met watery grave.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh Mogaveera (31), son of Badiya and Laxmi Mogaveera, and resident of Beejady.

It is said that on Tuesday morning, he had gone fishing in sea located close to his house. However, due to heavy winds and strong waves, he lost balance and got washed away.

His friends who were with him raised an alarm and locals gathered to rescue him. His body was soon washed ashore by the waves.

However, though complaint states that he went fishing, sources claimed that Suresh had gone for swimming with 7-8 friends on the occasion of Aati Amavasya.

Suresh is survived by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. He was an auto driver and fisherman by profession, and parked his auto at Kanteshwar stand.

Kundapur police have registered a case.
