Dubai: Moon sighted! Eid-ul-Fitr in UAE and parts of India on Aug 8

Dubai, Aug 7: After a month of fasting, UAE, Saudi Arabia and parts of India are getting ready to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Thursday August 8.

The Shawwal moon has been sighted in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and coastal part of southern India.

The UAE moon sighting committee has confirmed the same, while Geo TV reported an official statement from Saudi Arabia.

In Oman, the moon has not been sighted and hence the festival will be marked on Friday August 8, along with a major part of India.

    Happy Eid to all,
    If you see the comments, only Catholics have given good comments.
    What has stopped our Hindu brothers from wishing them?
    Our GOD should be in our hearts. My GOD of mine is always with me. I am sure that he will be there forever with me.
    FYI: I read Sreemad Bhagath Githa, The Holy Quran (English version), the holy Bible (King James version) and Swami Vivekananda's teachings every day for about 1 hour.
    At the age of 62, I have no blood sugar, no BP and no other health problems.The Doctors who check me during my yearly check-up are surprised.
    Do not call it as luck. This is called as brotherly love and respecting each other.
