Kundapur, Aug 9: The Kundapur crime branch on Friday August 9 arrested four persons accused of stealing cattle and committing various other crimes.

The arrested are Azharuddin of Uchila, Padubidri, and Pakeeranakatte residents Sauhad and Mohammed Mustaq and Mohammed Shahid.

Police said that the four were guilty of brandishing weapons and stealing cattle from a place near Anegudde, Kumbhashi.

Azharuddin was earlier caught in a case of cattle theft at Koni. The locals themselves had caught and handed him over to the police. He was later released on bail.

The four had been arrested in another case by Karwar police and brought to Byndoor for investigation. It was then that Anegudde cattle theft too came to light. Kundapur police took custody of the four accused and investigated further.

A sword and a Maruti Omni car were seized from the accused. They were produced in court on Friday and sent to judicial custody.

Mr. Ashwin Shetty/ Mangalore for your kind information minorities or majorities our laws/judiciary is very weak comparative to other countries if they gets stringent punishment like amputation of hands (Sharia Law) then we can reduce such type of crimes and lesson too others. Our law is just like a daily routine work catching thieves arrest next day release on bail and vice versa.

These are lazy thugs who dont want to work for livelihood. See their age, young and misguided. Islam calls for the amputation of their hands. Since they are muslims, authorities must apply sharia law and cut their hands off from wrist. If we do it, all our cattles and live stock shall be safe. Disgrace to the community they belong...

Well, It is easy to condemn on social media but how many are ready to come out in public and condemn this cowardly act by the rogues day in and day out? At least one statement by their leaders? No way. Is it that the leaders are helpless or silently supporting? miserable i would say.

Dear Bro, There are lot i think you have kept blind eye on those reports. The Muslim MLA's khader and Bava both condemend the acts as well as muslim okkuta and other muslim organisations issued press release what else you need and by the way why you need a condemnation for an unislamic act by waek follower of islam for which Islam use very harsh punishment.

I totally agree with Mr.Ifthikhar, from Mangalore / KSA. These thieves' hands should be chopped so that they will never commit another crime. After all one of them was cought earlier and released on bail. Our MLA/ ministers are talking about strict actions.. Let us wait and see if they will help these fellows with bail order or jail order??

Please extract information from these thieves as to - in which Police Station which Police constable used to pass on the secret information to them and save them from being caught. Because it is alleged that in each and every Police station there is atleast one Constable who is having secret understanding with the criminals. Such dishonest constables may belong to any Religions which is proved in Ajekar-Karkala where a Hindu Constable named Sudhakar what caught red-handed while passing on informations to Muslim cattle-thieves.

If you have read reports of incidents like this in Daijiworld from last few months, the accused have been involved in similar crimes before and were out on bail. Needless to say, as long as there is no fear of law and the accused can easily get away with bail, we will never be able to control such crimes. The only way left to teach a lesson to these criminals is for the public to take law in their hands as they did the other day for a pick pocketer in Mangalore.

All four are with Muslim names. It is better to apply Saudi law for their crime. Or else this crime can not be controlled in our twin districts. Even if they don't have anything to eat they must not go for stealing. They are bringing bad name to Islam.
