Udupi: Art works aiming at eco awareness 'rain' on city bus stand

Udupi, Aug 10: ‘Vanasuma Vedhika-2013’, a water color painting demonstration based on the theme ‘Rain’ was held at city bus stand on Friday August 9.

Krishnanchan, president, City Bus Owners’ Association, inaugurated the event. It started at 9.30 am and ended at 4 pm.

It aimed at creating awareness about the need for preservation of nature. The various emotions associated with the season were aptly depicted in the programme.

The event was organized at the bus stand in an attempt to reach the people who are busy with their daily routines to take time out for a visit to some other venue.

Participants were from a national and international level and included the likes of D L Acharya, P N Acharya, Bhaskar Kotian, Anil Mabel, Dr Gunasagari Rao, Viful Shetty, Prathiksha, Raima,Gautham, Devika Prabhu, Basuma Kodagu, and Pallavi Kodagu.

The paintings will be framed and sold to raise funds for a good cause.

    The Vanasuma Vedike 2013 is the best organisation started in Udupi has lot of scope to educate the people to bring eco awareness 'rain'. They have to plan to conduct this awareness programes in schools,colleges.religious centres.public places on a regular bacis.Once the people understand why we are deprived of rain and how to get it then there will not be much problem of water scarcity.Congratulation and wish them all the best.Thanq.
