Kundapur: Firing in forest - Four accused sent to judicial custody till Aug 24

Kundapur, Aug 13: The four persons arrested in connection with the death of Prabhakar Achari, who was found shot dead in a forest at Kaikana, Vandse, were on Monday August 12 produced in court and sent to judicial custody.

The accused Nagaraj Poojary, Sunder Poojary, Santosh Poojary and Raju Poojary, all residents of Noojady, were sent to judicial custody till August 24.

Kollur police arrested them after a complaint filed by the deceased man's brother Manjunath Achari. In the complaint it is alleged that on Saturday August 10 night, the four of them took Prabhakar to a forest on the pretext of going hunting and shot him dead. Among them, Nagaraj and Sunder had surrendered themselves before the police while the other two were arrested later.

The gun used in the crime was recovered from the house of Babu Poojary, father of Nagaraj.

Kollur police produced the four accused in Kundapur court on Monday at around 6 pm.
